Yellowstone Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Billings, Montana.
Yellowstone Country Club first opened for play in 1958. Robert Trent Jones designed the course.
Yellowstone is a par 72 course. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,121 yards. The course rating is 73, and the slope rating is 131.
The course slopes gently from north to south. The course features winding swales and an abundance of mature trees. Outstanding vistas surround the course, providing an inspiring backdrop for golf. Fun to play, Yellowstone punishes foul shots and rewards good shots, and while providing a stiff test for the expert, it does not break the spirit of the average golfer. The course includes "strategic" holes like the 6th and 7th that can be played differently according to ability and risk/reward holes. The 8th hole is a risk hole in that it requires a 100% carry from tee to green. The 15th hole is an excellent example of a penal hole in that it requires straight-away shots to the tightly trapped target areas, penalizing any missed shots.
